An essential element in any army, the Medical Corps' purpose is to save
lives in any way possible. The Rhodesian Medical Corps, though small in
numbers, provided the entire spectrum of medical assistance, not only to
the military, but also to tribes people when necessary and if circumstances
permitted. The Corps ran several hospitals and treated every kind of ailment
from bullet wounds to typhoid. The flag of the Corps displayed its badge
in gold on horizontal stripes of blue and yellow on a maroon field. The
pre-UDI flag had a crown on top of the badge with a scroll bearing the
word "Rhodesia" beneath. On the post-UDI flag, adopted after
Rhodesia became a republic, the crown was replaced by
the Rhodesian lion and tusk symbol.

I have altered Richard Allport's [aLL96]
image of the post-1970 flag by replacing the lion and tusk
with the Queen's Crown to create the pre-1970 version.
